Mahjong TeachersAbout this directory
Mahjong Teachers is a free list of people and places that teach American mahjong, city by city. It is built and paid for by Joker & Bloom, a small company that makes mahjong mats.
What is listed
519 teachers, lesson companies and studios in 49 US cities, along with clubs and community programs where you can play once you have learned. The focus is American mahjong, the style played with a card of hands and jokers. Groups that play other styles are labeled.
How listings are gathered
We search the public web for teachers and groups in each city, then read each one's own page. A listing appears only when it links to a page that loads and is about mahjong, or when two separate sources agree. The description is written by us from what that page says.
Software does most of this work. We have not phoned or visited each listing, so we do not call any listing verified. The date on each city page is when it was last checked.
If something is wrong
Schedules move and groups close. Every listing has a "Correct this" link, and you can always email hello@mahjongteachers.com. We fix or remove listings on request, usually within a day. See for teachers.
How it is paid for
Listings are free and their order is not for sale. Joker & Bloom pays for the site and is shown as its sponsor on each page. If that ever changes, this page will say so.
